Community Food club

Alongside our emergency food support for Worthing residents, we are launching a Community Food Club to offer longer-term support to all those who need it in our community. In return for a small donation towards the costs of the food and other essentials we provide, clients can select from a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, bread and eggs, as well as receiving dry and tinned food essentials and any additional donated items that may be available. Toiletries and household supplies are also offered in return for a small donation, along with pet food for dogs and cats.

Free sanitary products (pads, tampons), baby supplies (nappies and wipes) and toilet paper are available to all those who need them.

We aim to provide a wide range of food and other essentials at an affordable price so that our clients can make their money stretch further and reduce the pressure on their household budget.

How to order

Call or text our number 07526 176272 to place your order up to 5pm on Monday for collection on Wednesday, or up to 5pm on Wednesday for collection on Friday morning. You will be asked to collect your supplies at our depot (East Worthing Baptist Church, 44 Pendine Avenue, East Worthing BN11 2NA), and to pay by cash or card when you have selected your food. If you require a food delivery on Wednesday or Friday, we ask for payment upfront. We are open from 9.30am to 11.30am on Wednesday and Friday.

How it works

If you are a 1-3 person household, we ask for a donation of £5 towards the cost of the fresh produce and dry and tinned food that we provide.
If you are a 4-6+ person household, we ask for a donation of £7.50 towards the cost of the fresh produce and dry and tinned food that we provide.

A toiletries bag is £5 and includes deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, razors and shaving foam/gel, as well as sanitary products, toothpaste and toothbrushes on request. This is usually offered on a monthly basis but please let us know if you need to order this more frequently.

Household supplies such as washing powder/tabs and washing up liquid are available for 50p. Cleaning products are included as available and on request.

Wet and dry pet food for dogs and cats can also be provided on request (3-4 days’ supply). Please note that we cannot guarantee specific brands of pet food will be available.
